Becoming a grandparent changes you in ways you can’t quite explain until it happens. The first time I held my grandchild in my arms, something inside me shifted. It was as if the whole world paused just long enough for my heart to make room for a new kind of love — a love that’s gentle, pure, and endless.

I thought I understood love before. I loved my children fiercely as they grew up, through all the scraped knees, late nights, and joyful milestones. But seeing my child become a parent and holding that tiny baby in my arms — that was something entirely different. Suddenly, life looked brighter. The little things I used to overlook became magical again. I found myself slowing down, noticing the way sunlight caught their eyelashes, the sound of their laugh, the softness of their tiny hands.
That’s where Because of You was born.

One quiet evening, after a day full of baby giggles and memories I didn’t want to forget, I started writing down what I felt. Every line came straight from my heart — “Because of you, I see things differently. Because of you, I care more. Because of you, life is much better.” Each phrase was my way of saying thank you to this little person who changed my world simply by existing.
As the words flowed, I realized this wasn’t just my story. It’s the story of every parent, grandparent, or loved one who has been transformed by the presence of a child. That’s why I decided to leave space at the end of the book for others to write their own dedication — to make it their love story, too. Whether it’s signed “Love, Grandma,” “Love, Daddy,” or “Love, Auntie,” those final words make it uniquely personal.
Writing this book was a way for me to capture what words often can’t. It’s not just a children’s story — it’s a keepsake, a memory in ink, a way to say, you’ve made my life richer in every way.

Now, every time I read it aloud, I feel that same wave of emotion that started it all. Watching my grandchild’s eyes light up as I turn each page reminds me that love truly is the greatest gift we give and receive.
I recently read the book to the kids in the daycare and they loved it!

If you’re a new parent or grandparent, I hope Because of You helps you express all those big, beautiful feelings that sometimes don’t fit into words. It’s a book to be read aloud, cherished, and personalized — a reminder that because of them, your world will never be the same again.
If you are a parent or grandparent, this is a must!
